Veterans Day By Jack Stewart

Jack Stewart has penned an incredible debut novel with Veterans Day. In this novel, we are introduced to Ronan Doyle, an Air Force Combat Controller who is deployed with a Special Forces team. After a tragic accident strikes the team, Ronan starts to hear a voice while at a close teammates funeral. For years Ronan fights this voice as he falls deeper and deeper into the depths of self loathing. One day, the voice instructs Ronan to head to New Orleans, and after years of strange events and his life crumbling around him, Ronan follows through on the directive.

Veterans Day is a crisis of faith novel on steroids. We have this character who suffers an unimaginable loss on the battlefield, and as a result he loses everything he holds dear. With his faith already on shaky ground, Ronan tumbles into the depths of despair. Throughout the novel, this voice pops up in Ronan’s life causing him to question his sanity. I felt this was a unique attribute to this style of novel that gave it an otherworldly feel that just kicked the wow factor up for me.

Jack Stewart has a great future in the thriller universe after this stellar debut. His detail was impeccable, writing pace spot on, and his fight scenes were thrilling! I can’t wait for this to be published so thriller fans can get their hands on this one!
