The Breaker By Nick Petrie

Nick Petrie brings the heat in his sixth Peter Ash novel The Breaker. Peter is put through the ringer in each new novel, but what he faces in this new installment is like nothing he’s faced before. Nick Petrie’s writing is so raw that the reader feels ensconced in his world, a world of adventure, intrigue, and death defying action!

In The Breaker, Peter is living in the aftermath of the last novel. He is a man wanted in both Iceland and America. Peter is trying to live under the radar, and is succeeding to an extent. He likes the life he has cultivated with his girlfriend, June Cassidy, however he is always on the lookout for that next high adventure.

While Peter and his friend Lewis head to a market for lunch with June, they see a suspicious gunman prowling through the premises. Peter and Lewis cannot let this pass, so they confront this individual, but this encounter does not pan-out how they think it will. As they try to track down who this person is, June tries to put a name to the victim who looks familiar. This is a high risk endeavor for them all to embark on, but when a person who could make all of Peter's legal problems disappear implores them to tackle this case, Peter, Lewis, and June have no choice but to say yes.

As the three work this case, all is not what it appears. A former tech mogul has created a terrifying tech that could change the world, and in the wrong hands, could lead to destruction for the world as we know it. Peter, Lewis, and June are on a race against the clock to stop this technology from seeing the light of day. The fate of the world, and Peter’s freedom are at risk if they don’t come through.

The Breaker is a beautifully crafted tale of what could happen with the abuse of technology. In the current climate of advancing technology, and more and more news stories on the latest and greatest robots, this novel hit close to home on a terrifying level! Nick Petrie has hit literary gold with the cast of characters, and I can’t wait for more!
