Carter, Avery and team are off the coast of Brazil when plans are upended with news of a severe family emergency. The disappearance of one of Carter’s nieces leads the dynamic duo back to the states to assist in the investigation. What throws them for a loop is the request to locate a centuries old treasure that the world hasn’t laid eyes on in forever. Jet setting cross the world to China, time begins ticking as they rush to find something they know nothing about.
Avery and Carter navigate a number of dicey situations and presumed locations where the famed Chinese seal of the Realm hides, to buy the freedom of the kidnapped family member. Battling against rival forces, the Chinese government, and a plethora of unknowns, the team is devoted to unearthing the truth while providing safety for Carter’s niece.
Coffin and Walker create a fitting story which builds on the love and adventures that Carter Mosley and Avery Turner have experienced through the years. The mission in this specific hunt drives that family is important and worth any fight thrown their way, but it also shines a light on the past and what this team has accomplished together. The artifacts and history they speak on constantly have me searching the internet to see the fascinating pieces while learning other cultures.
One last search for worldly treasure with lives on the line makes The Emperor’s Palace an unforgettable adventure!
