When I look back at 2026, Ryan Steck’s Target Down will definitely be one of my favorite reads! Steck has given thriller lovers a gift in uber-protagonist Matthew Redd, and his superb storytelling makes this book an absolute must-read for fans of Brad Thor and Jack Carr. This fifth installment in the series kicks off when a Russian mafia hit team shatters the peaceful Michigan retirement of Aaron Decker, a former deep-black operative who supposedly died twenty years ago.
