Insurrection Day By Chris Hauty

Fast-paced, action-packed and including trademark game-changing twists, Insurrection Day is a hard-hitting Hayley Chill novella from the creative mind of Chris Hauty.

Insurrection Day is a fictionalized account of what happened on January 6, 2020 at the United States Capitol.  It takes real events, adjusts the timing to happen after Savage Road, and thrusts Hayley Chill in the middle of the action.  Her never ending sense of duty leads her to take on those who breached the Capitol, to protect and evacuate the Senate majority leader, and to chase down stolen congressional property taken by a trio of insurrectionists, who seem to be on a different level than the others roaming the halls.  The action is unrelenting and fierce as Hayley literally shoots it out with the thieves in an attempt to reclaim what was stolen in a failure-is-not-an-option effort to protect important secrets of the United States government.

It’s important to go into this novella understanding that it takes the very public events of January 6 and turns them into a Hayley Chill story with a twist.  Which is to say that your mindset will significantly impact your perspective of this novel.  If you can put that aside and focus on the story itself, you will find this is an unputdownable thriller that doesn’t let you catch your breath for a second and further increases your admiration for Hayley Chill’s exceptional courage and abilities.

Insurrection Day proves yet again that Chris Hauty is one hell of a storyteller and that Hayley Chill is one of the best, toughest and smartest protagonists in the genre.
