Left For Dead By Sean Parnell

Sean Parnell is no stranger to writing solid action sequences with gripping descriptions of explosive shootouts and terrifyingly bloody hand to hand combat. The action ramps up big time as Eric Steele is brought back into The Program, a covert outfit designed to operate in the shadows, to combat a Chinese threat against US interests. Unbeknownst to America, a fanatical Chinese Imperialist group plans to launch a false flag operation against US forces using a weaponized version of Covid-19 in order to start a war between the two countries. Eric Steele is ordered to go behind enemy lines to rescue a Chinese biological expert who has the necessary information to prevent another pandemic.

The well-written action is undoubtedly the highlight of the narrative. The relentless pace in the race against time situation causes the characters and the storyline to lack proper development; the characters felt a bit cliche at times, and the story could have been explored more in depth to create a more engaging villain and a stronger impression of dire stakes.

Left for Dead is an action-packed experience that keeps the wheels turning for adrenaline fans, complimented by interesting twists that are sure to have profound effects for Steele in the future books.
