Book Genre: Thriller

Book Outline: Ronan Doyle was once a giant among men, an elite Air Force Combat Controller assigned to a Special Forces detachment on the tip of the spear in the global war on terror. Now, he is a haunted man, filled with remorse for an accident that cost the lives of two Green Berets; an accident that shook his faith and inflicted moral trauma from which he fears he will never recover. He has become just one more broken vet, the latest casualty in a decades long war.

But when Ronan attends their funeral, he hears a voice in his head challenging him to face the events of the past and look towards the future. Lost in despair and far from faith, he doesn’t realize that the voice belongs to his guardian angel and First Knight in the Kingdom of Heaven. Others can’t hear it, and Ronan doesn’t want to, believing it to be just the latest symptom of his diseased brain. For years, he fights the voice, resists the call and drowns it out with cheap bourbon. Until the voice issues Ronan a clear mandate: “Go to New Orleans.”

Ronan finds an unlikely ally in a New Orleans Police Detective who is bound to him by the past and appears to also hear the voice of his guardian angel. Together, they step into the seedy underbelly of the city to rescue a woman who is important to both of them for very different reasons. But will he heed the voice’s final warning?

Hook Or Blurb: Do angels exist? Do they intervene when a man has lost his faith and is haunted by the horrors of war? And will you listen when they call on you? Will Ronan?
