Matthew Quirk is back at it again, delivering a sensational powder keg story thats about ready to blow. The Method is creative, entertaining, and full of top notch storytelling by one of the best authors out there.
Anna Vaughn is an actress working her way through life, looking for the next gig here and there. Chatting with pal Natalie Harris, Anna overhears a questionable phone call followed by Natalie’s insistence on going out to party. While everything would be kosher on the surface, Natalie goes missing and Anna begins the deep dive into her disappearance.
What happens next is a torrid battle of good and evil, right and wrong, and the need to find the truth. Anna is caught up in an unassuming play of blackmail and influence in the highest offices where people go missing and there’s proof, that is never intended to see the light of day. Who is responsible for the violence occurring and what ties does it have to government officials could have international implications.
Quirk has always delivered and this time is no different. His ability to create such an exciting storyline and blend it with an atypical main character is testament to his imagination. Creating an actress and finding a way to infuse her past with creative training and experience, then putting it to use to fight for the truth wasn’t what I was expecting. This is a healthy reprieve from the alpha male truth-solving type and it goes hard!
I really enjoy how Quirk presents his characters; vulnerable at times, violent at others, but confident in a non-assuming way. I enjoyed that the characters have a level of creativeness that stays true to the story, not fantasy based expectations. The Method is not to be missed.
