Bruce Robert Coffin’s Bar Harbor is a fantastic third edition of Detective Brock Justice. Highly creative and dripping with intrigue, Coffin has cemented Justice as one of the most formidable and liked characters in the genre today.
Millionaire Granville Wallace and his much too young wife are on the way home from a day on the water, when things go completely sideways. Two armed intruders are found robbing their home while Granvilles wife Lily is preparing for dinner, leading to grizzly scene were multiple people wind up dead.
Justice and tough-as-nails partner Detective Chloe Wright welcome in hot shot third wheel Samantha Osborn, who is busy ruffling feathers. Justice continues his normal sleuth like ways of investigation to push the case forward, while curveballs continue to pop-up. Digging up facts only uncovers other treachery that puts everyone in the crosshairs for a tremendous ending.
Coffin has created one of my favorite characters in Detective Brock Justice. He’s not some company man with a clean background doing great work. He’s got a past that has scarred his record but he’s not keen on playing it safe. He’s gritty, ruthless, and determined to find the truth!
Dark Harbor is an immediate add to my Top of 2026 and Bruce Robert Coffin is deserving of your time. Fast-paced, murderous, and page turning at its finest!
